CHALLENGE

Comic Relief captures millions of assets from their groundbreaking fundraiser events throughout the year. Both internal and external teams including editors, talent, photographers, retouchers and more are required to collaborate on these assets with a 24 hour approval deadline. Comic Relief’s clunky DAM system caused bottlenecks when photographers tried to upload photos, halting the process even prior to assets moving into post-production.

SOLUTION

Comic Relief needed real-time asset management within an organized and collaborative system that could be accessed by various creative teams across the world, instantly. The first step in the process was to create a complete, central repository.

globaledit quickly migrated a custom metadata schema and set up controlled asset rights. Comic Relief could now involve external and internal users for asset collaboration within the platform. Photographers could use Uplink to upload assets during events for instant sharing and approval.

RESULTS

Comic Relief manages all event photos within globaledit and also uses the system as a permanent archive for all additional assets. In partnering with globaledit Comic Relief has created a fully functional asset management system, which includes the following achievements:
