We were in London this past weekend to participate in Comic Relief’s amazing Sport Relief 2012. Comic Relief, a major charity based in the UK that drive[s] positive change through the power of entertainment”, produces this biennial campaign to generate massive awareness and funding for a variety of charitable causes by connecting sport, celebrity, family, and physical activity.
On Friday, we were part of the studio audience for the Sport Relief 2012 telethon broadcast on BBC. The program featured major British sport and entertainment stars and generated over ?50 million. The funds will be spent by Comic Relief in both the UK and the world’s poorest countries.
On Sunday, over one million people in hundreds of venues across the U.K. participated in the Sport Relief Mile, running 1, 3, or 6 miles to raise money through sponsorships. The London event, in which we participated, was hosted in front of the beautiful Buckingham Palace.
Behind the scenes, the Comic Relief photo team used GLOBALedit to upload, edit, and distribute photography to press and media outlets across the U.K.. The team graciously allowed us to film their work in action during the busy production.
